Starting/Filling Groups 5 Minute Party
Okay, so the regionals will be talking to your CPs (if they haven’t already) about a 5 minute party that will immediately follow each experience. The goal of the “party” is to give specific groups of people the opportunity to meet CPs. Some weeks the CPs will invite people who are new to the church, some weeks they’ll invite people who are looking for LifeGroups, sometimes they’ll invite people who want to plug into Missions, sometimes those who want to serve, etc. Invitees will be asked to come to the front of the auditorium immediately following the experience for 5 minutes.
Related to the parties I’d like for us to discuss 3 things:
1. What resources do we need to have ready every week for people to find/fill a LifeGroup?
2. What resources do we need to have ready every week for people to start new LifeGroups?
3. How can we effectively train CPs to use the resources.
Please share your ideas!!!

fill/find - a common LG connection place. we need to make this step for new people as clear and easy as possible.
start - LG starter kit for leaders that has valuable info and links to e-learning. they can set up appt. w/ LGLG Pastor or Coach.
train CP’s - is this even possible? we need to make sure they communicate clearly and brings some resources on stage. it would be awesome to share stories of how some of the materials helpd (once they do). our CP is good with letting me do the 180 as well.

Something GT and I have talked about already is using both of us during the close on the weeks where it’s LGs or Missions that are the focus. For example, GT does hands, prayer, celebration, and throws to video preview of the next week, but then when lights come back up, I’m on stage and invite people to come meet GT AND me up there in the 5 minute party. That puts the invite and resources into my hands to be explained during the 5 minute party. Make sense?

Fill/Find- I think the best way to close the gap between looking for and finding a LifeGroup is for people to connect to a LifeGroup leader that personally invites you to their home. Maybe have LifeGroup leaders/coaches with tags on in the lobby for an after the party connection event. Encourage leaders to help people find a fit(which may be somebody else’s group). The caution here would be to make it a meet and greet (maybe some refreshments) and not to overwhelm people with a used car lot approach.

I like what Tony said. I have watched people over the past couple of months and it seems that people who stick in groups are the ones that got the personal invite from a lgl. It might be a good idea to have some lgls that are aggressively looking to fill their groups at the 5 min party.
BTW- I love the 5 min party…whats funny is our southern baptist buddies have been doing this for years!
